Trivial Proxy is a small application that allow to see and log
network activity of the any applications(browsers, email clients etc.).

So what does that mean in English? Simple, run TrivialProxy
and configure it to redirect the local port to the specified
host:port; configure the appication to use this port and
localhost (it's very easy, there's), and voila! You're seeing
and logging the network activity of this application!
Supports HTTP (web), HTTPS (secure web), POP3 (recieve mail),
SMTP (send mail), NNTP (newsgroups)! It works great with
Internet Explorer, Firefox, Outlook, and many more!

Sockschain, chain of SOCKS or HTTP proxies

Sockschain is a program that allows to work with any Internet service through a chain of SOCKS or HTTP proxies to hide the real IP-address. SocksChain can function as a usual SOCKS-server that transmits queries through a chain of proxies. SocksChain can be used with client programs that do not support the SOCKS protocol, but work with one TCP-connection, such as TELNET, HTTP, IRC... (FTP uses 2 connections). And your IP-address will not be seen in the server's logs or mail headers.

Principle of operation
SocksChain transmits the TCP-call of a client program in such a way that it successively goes through a chain of proxies. SocksChain itself is connected only with the first element of this chain. That one in its turn is connected with the second and so on...

So, to track where the query was initiated from with the help of server logs is very complex. To do that, one should analyze the logs of all intermediates one by one in the reverse order. If somewhere the logs are not kept, the thread will be lost. Theoretically it provides a high degree of anonymity. But it affects the speed of data transmission as it is inversely proportional to the chain length.

TabBrowser Preferences Firefox Extension

The TabBrowser Preferences extension gives Firefox the options and customization
for tabs that it should have been born with. There are even a few perks to having
this extension that I probably wouldn't have thought of before using it as well. So
what does it do? It gives you full and total control of your tabbed browsing
experience.

Here are only some of the features included: open URLs in the URL bar and
searches from the search bar in new tabs, open the homepage in every newly
created tab, select tabs by moving the mouse onto them, instead of clicking on
them, moving the tab bar to the bottom of the browser window, opening URLs from
the Extension/Theme Manager and the Help window in new tabs, opening the
throbber in a new tab, control the focusing/unfocusing of various tab-creating
functions, such as the File, New Tab command, per-tab locking, to force left-clicked
links to open in new tabs, compatibility with Tab Clicking Options, and ability to
drag and drop URLs on the new tab button on the tab bar.

TabBrowser Preferences makes using Firefox a better experience. For those folks
out there who are picky about having only one browser window open, it gives them
the options to control that type of surfing better than before.

So try something new when it comes to tabbed browsing and put this extension
inside your version of Firefox. I bet after you do, you will not know what you ever
did without it.

public key cryptography

First you have to find out about public key cryptography. Public key
cryptography uses a public key to encrypt data and a private key to decrypt
it. The name public key comes from the fact that you can make the encryption
key public without compromising the secrecy of the data or the decryption
key. What this means is that it is safe to send your public key (i.e. the
contents of the ~/.ssh/identity.pub file) in electronic mail or by other
means e.g. to have a system administrator of a remote site install that key
into your ~/.ssh/authorized_keys file. For anyone to actually gain access
they need the corresponding private key (i.e. the decrypted contents of
~/.ssh/identity) to identify themselves.SSH saves it's settings and your
encryption keys in the ~/.ssh subdirectory (a subdirectory in your home
directory).

If you've never used the machine you're on to ssh before, or if you have not
deemed your machine "trusted", you will recieve the following message:

userid> ssh beatbox
Host key not found from the list of known hosts.
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes
Host 'beatbox' added to the list of known hosts.
userid@beatbox's password:

If you want to login with a different username then your local username you
will type something like this:

userid> ssh username@hostname

To further protect your private key you should enter a passphrase to encrypt
the key when it is stored in the filesystem. This will prevent people from
using it even if they gain access to your files.

The very first step is to use ssh-keygen to create an authentication key for
yourself. In most cases the defaults for this command are what you
want.Always, type in a good pass-phrase when prompted for one. It can be
multiple words (i.e. spaces are just fine within the phrase), so you could
choose a sentence that you can remember. Changing some of the words by
misspelling them or by changing some of the letters into digits is highly
recommended to increase the strength of your pass phrase.
